Sherwood Cricket Club currently fields five weekend senior sides. Our Saturday 1st XI and 2nd XI play 18 league matches in the Kent Regional League Divisions 1A Central and 2B Central respectively, together with friendly games at the beginning and end of the season. We are hoping to set up a Saturday 3rd XI to play some friendly games.

The Sunday 1st XI plays 7 matches of league cricket in the Medway Area Sunday League and the remainder of its fixtures are friendly matches. The Sunday 2nd XI has a full fixture list of friendlies while the Bowmen is a development team, containing a mix of youth players and senior cricketers, which plays up to a dozen Sunday friendly matches.

On Thursday evenings in June and July, we put out a 'mixed ability' side in 20/20 matches against local organizations and clubs, starting at 5.30 pm.

Sherwood Cricket Club boasts a vibrant Youth Section with our sides playing in the Readers Medway Youth League in all the age groups (Under 11 Hardball and Softball, Under 13, Under 15, and Under 17) and also in the Medway Youth Festival for Under 16 teams, which takes place in August.

We have 60+ Youth members, starting as young as 7 years old, and many of our older Youth cricketers represent the Club at senior level in friendly and league matches. The future of Sherwood C.C. is our Youth Section, so we aim to provide a structured coaching programme and a positive playing environment which will help our Youth players to develop their personal and cricketing skills for use in later life.

  • medwaygirlscricket logoSherwood is proud to host the Medway Girls Cricket Academy. We provide coaching and development for Girls of all ages to help them develop their skills in a safe and friendly environment. Girls from across Medway are welcome to join in and practice at the Sherwood grounds. Training takes place on a Monday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm during the season.

Our aim is to be able to enter teams into the Kent Women's & Girls leagues at different age groups - U11, U13 and U15 levels and to continue their development to enable them to continue playing cricket in Women's leagues across the county.
