        Sherwood invests in clubhouse improvements

NatWest CricketForce encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

NatWest CricketForce 2011 will take place on the weekend of April 8-10th 2011.

Club House Improvements - October 2010

This year Sherwood has invested in major clubhouse improvements including the following:

- Refurbishment of Bar including new bar coolers and a

  much needed re-paint and new worktop.

- A new 50" HD TV for the clubhouse.

- Refurbishment of the Home changing rooms with new

  carpet tiles and music.

- New purpose-build lockable storage area for coaching

  equipment

- Replacement of damaged guttering on front of clubhouse

  with vandal proof metal guttering.

The total investment in improvements is close to £3,000 and a big thank-you goes to all of those members that came along and helped with the work.

Past events are detailed below:

Loaming Day - October 2008

On a foggy October morning, the usual suspects turned out to support Sherwood’s Loaming Day, the first CricketForce 2009 event at the club. Six tons of loam were laid on the square following preparation earlier in the week. Support came from club members, including the youth section and not only was the loaming completed in record time but the outfield was mowed and the weeds surrounding the ground strimmed as well. There was a record attendance for the annual event which this year took place on 11th October.

CricketForce 2008 - April 2008

Sherwood Cricket Club took part in this years NatWest CricketForce 2008 for the first time this year undertaking numerous tasks including repainting the clubhouse, repairing the roof and repairing the doors and laying a new driveway. We would like to say a big thank-you to all those involved but especially Andrew Tutt and Steve Rattle who along with others worked tirelessly throughout the day.
