Sherwood Cricket Club are proud to have been awarded a Bronze in the Club of the Year category for Medway Councils Sports Awards 2009. At the Gala Dinner held at the St. Georges Centre in the Chatham Maritime on November 6th Sherwood was awarded the Bronze in recognition for the hard work undertaken by the club in local schools and the community.

John Fewtrell, Chairman of Sherwood said "To be nominated is a great honour for the club, let alone getting the Bronze award, this is directly in recognition of the progress we have made as a club in the past year. Today, we are the only club in Medway that is part of the Chance to Shine programme delivering over 400 hours of grass roots cricket coaching to local schools and the community at large".

The competition was immense with Medway Korfball Club, GB winners at several senior and youth levels taking the Gold and Jumpers Rebound Centre, the home of British Trampolining taking the Silver.
