Code of Practice

for Youth Section Members

Sherwood Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members. The Club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators, volunteers and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with:

As a member of the Sherwood Cricket Club, you are expected to abide by the following Youth Section code of practice:

• All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.

• All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs or sexual identity.

• Members should keep to agreed timings for training, matches and competitions or inform their Team Coach or Team Manager if they are going to be late.

• Members should provide sufficient notice to the Team Coach or Team Manager if they have been selected to a match but are unable to attend.

• Members must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the Team Coach/Manager.

          1. Tracksuit, whites or something similar for Training

          2. Cricket whites where possible for a match. The Club has

              supplies of shirts and capes for sale or loan. Please

              discuss with the Youth Section Secretary should this be

              necessary.

•  Members must pay any fees for matches, training (where applicable) or other events promptly.

• Youth Section members are not allowed to smoke on the Club premises or whilst representing the Club at competitions.

• Youth Section members are not allowed to consume alcohol or take drugs of any kind on the Club premises or whilst representing the Club.

• All Youth Section members must wear helmets at appropriate times and as directed by the Team Coach/Manager. The Club has a supply of helmets for use.
